While the trade is in place that would send Love to the Cavaliers, the biggest hangup has been Love’s willingness to sign a long term deal with his soon-to-be new team.
That’s an agreement Love has reportedly made, but according to CBSSports.com’s Ken Berger, such a deal is just a verbal agreement that Love may wait until next summer to sign. The reason being, LeBron James has his contract come up again next summer and Love might want to wait and see what he does first.
As for extension agreement with Cavs, league source says Love may decide to wait until next summer and "do whatever LeBron does."

This could end up being Something that might hold up a deal, not this year but next year, as Love might see the LeBron James doesn’t sign right away and take his talents on the market. There’s no guarantee that this will happen, but remember that Love hasn’t signed anything yet, he’s just said that he will which is something entirely different.
