Yasiel Puig is the king of going viral in Major League Baseball. The young outfielder has the perfect combination of incredible talent, a controversial personality, and the occasional stupid mistake to always find himself in the spotlight. Oh, and he brings all the bat flips.

On Friday night Puig once again has our attention. In this case it is the result of a showcase of pure, raw strength. No, he did not necessarily hit a baseball a long distance or throw somebody out from the outfield. The play in question is an otherwise mundane foul tip on an attempted check swing.
So what makes this play so special? How about the fact that Puig snapped his bat clean into two pieces simply by checking his swing.
The good news is that Puig hurt his bat and not himself by stopping the momentum of one of his mighty swings. At this point fans ought to be reminded that former MLB first baseman Richie Sexson, a big strong man in his own right, seriously injured his shoulder trying to check his swing back in 2004.
Aesthetically this play is just amazing. Not only did the bat break, but the top half of it shot well up the third base line as he was left with only the handle of the bat in his hand.
Puig makes all of our lives more exciting, and this moment was no exception.
