Cleveland Cavaliers rumors: Cavs to deal Tristan Thompson?
It has been on heck of an offseason for the Cleveland Cavaliers. First, they won the NBA’s Draft Lottery and made former Kansas Jayhawks’ swingman Andrew Wiggins the number one overall pick in the draft. Then, they convinced the game’s best player, LeBron James, to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, they have swung a deal to send a package featuring Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves for star power forward Kevin Love.

The Cavaliers likely aren’t done making moves either.
According to Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors, the Cavaliers likely won’t extend big man Tristan Thompson and believe the Cavaliers will trade him at some point this season.
"You’re right that he wouldn’t make sense for them at this point. I’d be rather surprised if the Cavs gave him an extension, since that would make it much tougher for the team to trade him, thanks to the Poison Pill Provision. Ultimately, I think the Cavs will ship him elsewhere at some point this season."
Thompson averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 69.3% from the free throw line. In his career, he’s put up 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47.3% from the field and 63.0% from the free throw line. He was originally selected by the Cavaliers with the fourth-overall selection in the 2011 NBA Draft. Thompson is still just 23 years old.
