Granderson, 33, signed with the Mets in December after four years with the New York Yankees and, after an awful start, rebounded fairly well.
Granderson hit just .136 with one home run in April, but posted a .300/.411/.522 slash line with five long balls in June before cooling off a bit.
For the season, he is at .232/.337/.397 in 113 games, with 56 runs, 20 doubles, 15 homers and 46 RBI.
A three-time All-Star with the Detroit Tigers and the Yankees, Granderson still has three years and $47 million remaining on the contract he signed last winter.
He had an impressive double with the Yankees in 2011, leading the American League with 136 runs and 119 RBI.
Niese, 27, is 5-8 with a 3.51 ERA and 1.278 WHIP in 21 starts and 128.1 innings this season with 90 strikeouts and is under contract through 2016 for $16 million, with team options of $10 million for 2017 and $11 million for 2018. Each option year has a $500,000 buyout.
