Make a list of things Derek Jeter is known for. Using that inside-out swing to slap base hits the other way. Diving head first into the stands for a foul ball that one time. That other time in the playoffs when he flashed out of nowhere, cut off the throw and scooped the ball to the plate to get Jeremy Giambi.

Also, bagging lots of chicks. That might be the #1 Jeter thing for some people. But you can’t really release a bobblehead commemorating all the babes Jeter has nailed, so the Yankees have moved on to something else farther down the list.

So now, the famous Derek Jeter jump throw has its own bobblehead. And you can buy one for sixty dollars FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY.

So this is where we’re going with bobbleheads. Used to be there were just player bobbleheads. The fact that the head bobbled was enough to make them interesting.

Then people had to start adding props. Hunter Pence bobblehead with scooter. Stuff like that. Now we’ve got bobbleheads commemorating specific signature defensive moves.

Where will this trend lead us? Will there soon be a Yasiel Puig overrunning the ball bobblehead? A Yoenis Cespedes bobbling the ball on purpose so he can gun a man down from deep left bobblehead? A Sam Fuld breaking his face on something bobblehead?

We need an Adam Dunn just standing there doing nothing bobblehead. That would be fantastic. I might pay sixty bucks for that. Maybe.
