Baltimore Orioles not intersted in bringing back Brian Roberts

The New York Yankees decided that Brian Roberts just wasn’t for them, and released the veteran second baseman earlier this season.

But now that he’s a free agent, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in a guy who once upon a time wasn’t that bad of an option at second base. He had a good run with the Baltimore Orioles, which helped catch the attention of the New York Yankees, but there isn’t much interest coming out of Baltimore anymore.
According to Dan Connolly from the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles may have had good years with Brian Roberts, but those years are over and will not be revived anytime soon in the form of a signing.
Roberts may land somewhere but it won’t be with a contender and even if it is, it won’t be in a prominent role. Roberts might be looking at a minor league contract but he will likely find work, even if he has to go without it for a while.
