That’s where the Indiana Pacers have consistently come into play, as whether it be Goran Dragic or Bledsoe, there’s been growing rumors that the Pacers are after one of the two Suns guards.
According to NBA scribe Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Pacers acquiring Bledsoe may make sense in some ways, but in a lot of other ways it’s bad business.
"Given where the Pacers are today… I don;t think landing Bledsoe is smart, business. There is a reason he is unsigned. There is a reason he didn’t get a MAX offer and I think the only way Bledsoe signs is if its for more than Phoenix is offering, which I don’t think the Pacers would do."
He’s not wrong, as Bledsoe hasn’t received a max offer for a reason, and that reason has more to do than just the Suns scaring teams off from making an offer. Having a team say it’s going to match a max offer rarely scares teams off from offer the max, but players with injury history tend to not get max offers and that might be what this is about, and the last thing the Pacers need is to lose another star.
