It’s been known that Jerry Jones would likely fight to the death to keep a third team out of Texas, but he might get some help from a major sports franchise in San Antonio. According to the San Antonio News-Express, the Spurs would oppose a move by the Raiders from Oakland to San Antonio.

It’s unclear why the move would be so opposed by the Spurs as having another major sports franchise in town would be great for the city. But it seems there’s a conflict of interest in bringing in an MLS team if the Raiders were to move to San Antonio and take up valuable real estate.
There’s also the reputation that the Raiders carry which is likely a turn off the the small market Spurs, as the Black Hole and Tim Duncan couldn’t be more different if they tried. Still, the Raiders moving to San Antonio is a complicated move, and it’s one mad more complicated by teams already in the city fighting the move from happening.
