The Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and Utah Jazz showed initial interest in the 24-year old, then the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors reportedly joined the party.
For a while, it looked like Murry may be leaning towards taking a deal with the Heat or returning to the Knicks, but the Jazz began to ramp up their efforts, offering Murry more money than they other reams were either willing to give or could afford to give.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Jazz’s pursuit has paid off and they are closing in on a one-year, $2 million deal with the Murry.

Murry averaged 2.7 points, 1.0 assists, 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 7.3 minutes per game while shooting 43.4% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc and 59.0% from the free throw line in 51 games for the Knicks last season. That included a career-high 15 point-performance on six-of-12 shooting in the Knicks’ final game of the season, a 95-92 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Murry spent four years with the Wichita State Shockers and went undrafted in 2012. He spent the 2012-2013 season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League before joining the Knicks last season.
