The Minnesota Vikings had an encouraging start to the preseason as they beat the Oakland Raiders 10-6 with the team’s lone touchdown coming off the opening drive. Matt Cassel and the offense drove 70 yards with an impressive display that would score all the points the team needed that night. Wide receiver Greg Jennings believes if the team can keep doing what they did on that drive, the Vikings should surprise some people this year.

“It was impressive,” Jennings told the Pioneer Press. “That’s who we see ourselves being this year. The most impressive thing was seeing how the ball was spread around.”
Having seen what a Super Bowl team looks like, Greg Jennings knows that this or any season doesn’t hinge on one player, but on the team as a whole. That’s why he believes the entire team has to be on board if they are serious about defying expectations and making some noise in 2014
“If we can get better at that, being unselfish, and allowing other guys to make plays within the play we make, we can be a really good football team,” he said.
The Vikings will have another shot to build on that encouraging performance when they host the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday at 8:30 PM EST. Matt Cassel will likely once more get the start as the team slowly ramps up toward the regular season.
