The Indiana Pacers are without Paul George this year as the All-Star suffered a brutal injury in a Team USA scrimmage and has left his team scrambling for options.

More from Indiana Pacers

One of those options is to make trades to replace George this season, but making big trades isn’t something the Indiana has been known to do and it’s something they may shy away from even in the wake of losing George to his leg injury this summer at Team USA camp.

According to Alex Kennedy from Basketball Insiders, the Pacers are working the phones and trying to make trade, but it’s not something that they’re rushing into when it comes to making big moves.

"It sounds like they’re working the phones and trying to make some trades. There were reports that they offered Roy Hibbert and Chris Copeland to the Suns for Goran Dragic and that they offered Hibbert to the Pistons for Greg Monroe. It sounds like they’re weighing all of their options and gauging interest in their players."

The Pacers may also end up tanking this year like the Spurs did when David Robinson went down in the late 90s, but that’s not something that teams just readily admit to doing. Indiana is at least going to make it look like they’re trying to win — and maybe they are — but rushing into trades isn’t something that the team is going to be doing.
