NFL: Ranking the offseason for all 32 teams
By Bryce Olin
31. Cincinnati Bengals
The biggest news from Cincinnati this offseason was signing Andy Dalton to a contract extension. That’s it.
The Bengals return most of their playmakers from a season ago and have made the playoffs the last three seasons. Expectations couldn’t be much higher for the Bengals, but without any big free agent moves, the key will be Dalton taking a huge leap into the NFL’s elite quarterbacks, like Joe Flacco did in 2012.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Bengals added CB Darqueze Dennard from Michigan State, and DT Geno Atkins returns from a torn ACL this season. The Bengals might be better on defense, but success rests solely on Dalton’s shoulders.
