Patriots’ Tom Brady: ‘I’ve got my hands on their butts probably more than their wives’

It is a special bond between quarterback and center. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the league’s most successful quarterbacks in history, so you’d expect him to have a great relationship with his centers, and he says he does.

While talking to reporters, he was asked how that chemistry can be affected when getting reps with different players, namely Dan Connolly and Ryan Wendell, the two leading contenders to be the starting center. Brady chose to elaborate on their bond, but did so in a curious and eyebrow raising way with an interesting set of imagery.

“I’ve got confidence in those guys,” Brady said, via the Boston Herald. “I love both Dan and Wendy. I love those guys. They work so hard. The center-quarterback relationship is a pretty special one. I’ve got my hands on their butts probably more than their wives, so it’s a pretty unique trust and relationship you have.”

All the great things you’d want to hear out of your quarterback about his offensive line. Brady having confidence in his offensive line will only help them further an already solid offense, especially with new weapons like wide receiver Brandon LaFell in the mix.
