McIlroy and Woods are not just linked by their immense talent, however. They are also linked because they are both sponsored by Nike. All told these two are running buddies from time to time, and that will be the case next week on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
Bob Harig of ESPN.com writes that Woods and McIlroy will appear on Fallon’s show together next Monday:
"Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will appear together on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday in New York City. The two Nike endorsers are also scheduled to appear on behalf of the company that day at Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey, the course that last year hosted the Barclays tournament."
Harig also notes that McIlroy will then head to New Jersey for the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Woods will not because he did not qualify for the playoffs, thanks mostly to his injury-riddled season as he dealt with back issues.
As for their appearance on Fallon, the possibilities are endless if both golfers enter the situation with a sense of humor. Fallon’s show is a blast to watch because he pretty much treats it like a slumber party, complete with rocking out, lip syncing, and random games. Viewers are guaranteed good entertainment when the guests buy in.
One imagines that Fallon and his crew can come up with some hilarious activities for McIlroy and Woods if they are up for it.
