Yasiel Puig is frustrated after popping up the first pitch for an easy out. Forgetting that he has a teammate in the on-deck circle, he whips the bat.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

This is really more of a bat toss than a bat flip. A bat flip is an expression of happiness but this bat toss is out of frustration. Look out Matt Kemp, bat coming at your feet!

Oh wouldn’t that have been perfect. If Kemp had gotten hit in the kneecap and been taken out. Matt Kemp placed on the 15-day DL after taking a Yasiel Puig angry bat toss in the knee. Bill Plaschke would have had an orgasm.

Luckily the bat missed Kemp. Don Mattingly should still sit Puig down and have a talk with him. Another talk. I always picture Mattingly and Puig like Andy and Opie, sitting on a stoop, Mattingly chewing on a piece of grass, dispensing folksy wisdom.

Except Opie actually listened to Andy. Otherwise he would’ve gotten the switch.
