The Indiana Pacers are looking at a season in which they may end up falling off and tanking rather badly thanks to the injury to Paul George in Team USA’s pre-World Cup scrimmage.

All is not lost yet, but if the wheels start to fall off early on in the season, then some serious trades might start to be made in Indiana.
According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the belief at the moment seems to be that David West will be traded this season, especially if the Pacers begin to struggle.
"West’s deal with the Pacers seemed like the twilight deal; he’d play out the deal make a couple of runs at a championship, however with Paul George out for the season and the Pacers in something of disarray as a result, there is a belief that West might get traded at some point this season. The prevailing thought on the Pacers is that they will open camp and make a go of it and see what they have. If the team starts to fall off, then changes and significant trades are likely."
David West is a player to watch indeed this season on the trade market, as his contract isn’t all that terrible for teams who may want to take him on and his value as a trade chip may benefit the Pacers in the long run
