With reports of Cousins gingerly walking off the floor following injury, many hoped against the worst as Team USA was already thin in regards to talent. But according to reports from several sources, one being Jerry Colangelo, managing director for Team USA who stated Cousins is expected to be fine physically.
Thanks for all the concern, I'm fine

With Paul George, Kevin Love, and Kevin Durant all stars who won’t be participating with Team USA for a variety of reasons spanning from severe injury to personal reasons, DeMarcus Cousins’ importance on the 2014 team has gone from expendable to key role. While the style of international play is opposite of Cousins’ strengths, his ability as a premiere scoring big man may be key as they’ve lost some of their best perimeter scorers on the team.
Most importantly, Kings fans were a bit worried that they could suffer a similar fate to the Indiana Pacers as they’ll be forced to endure an entire season without superstar forward Paul George who broke his leg against the basket stanchion in the Team USA National Showcase scrimmage.
Expected to miss the upcoming scrimmage against Brazil, Cousins, if he makes the final roster, will be ready to go by time the 2014 FIBA World Cup begins later this month.
