At Central Florida the past few seasons, Storm Johnson was considered one of the most underrated backs in all of college football, and now he is trying to make a name for himself in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, along with his college QB Blake Bortles.

Well on Thursday night in the team’s second preseason game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, Johnson made quite the impression on his new team in the second quarter, by actually preventing something disastrous from happening. Basically, like he did countless times at UCF, he turned nothing into something.

After the Bears scored a touchdown, Johnson was back for the kickoff. Well as the ball was coming in near the goal line, Johnson lost a bit of concentration and fumbled.

Luckily for him, though, he was heads up enough to grab it right back and pick up 32 yards to give the Jags much better field position than they would have had.

It’s plays like that that could give Johnson a pretty prominent spot on this team. Sure, the fumble was bad, but it showed tremendous instincts to not only get the ball back, but then get up the field to make something happen.
