Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is an NBA superstar. He averaged 24.0 points and 8.5 assists last season and might just be the greatest shooter in league history.

But to those who know nothing about basketball, he’s just a regular guy. Curry learned that the hard way when he was recently denied alcohol by a waitress at a California Pizza Kitchen because he forgot his ID.
Curry told the hilarious story to Dime Magazine (H/T CSN Bay Area):
"Curry: It happened at California Pizza Kitchen in the Bay Area like 15 minutes from my house. We went, I tried to get a drink after the season, that’s exactly what happened.Me and my wife went to dinner, and we didn’t have our daughter with us, and she was with the babysitter. So I ordered a beer, and I didn’t have my ID with me, ‘cause I left it in the car and I thought she’d recognize me.So the waitress asks, and I was like, ‘Uh, is your manager here,’ and I took my chances with him knowing who I was, and … he knew. But she basically, yeah, she wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt, knowing that I didn’t look like I was over 21 and not knowing who I was."
Not helping the 26-year-old’s case in times like these is that he has a baby face and it’s conceivable that someone could think he’s below the legal drinking limit.
Hopefully Curry’s learned his lesson here and now makes sure he has his ID with him at all times to avoid potentially embarrassing situations this.
