The New Orleans Saints have multiple capable running backs and they plan on taking advantage of that.
Mike Triplett of ESPN.com writes that he expects to see carries evenly distributed between Mark Ingram, Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas in 2014.
"Although Mark Ingram looked terrific in the preseason opener, I expect a pretty even split between Ingram, Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas all season (with Thomas in more of a third-down role). The good news is that the Saints’ run game looks improved overall."
As Triplett alludes to, Ingram’s performance in the Saints preseason opener versus the St.Louis Rams opened some eyebrows. He posted 83 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries and looked much improved.

While he won’t receive the lions share of the carries, the fact that he’s playing well certainly bodes well for the Saints’ chances of finishing above the No. 25 ranking in rushing yards per game they ended last season with. Ingram rushed for 386 yards and one touchdown on 78 attempts last season.
As for Thomas, he posted 549 yards and two touchdowns on 147 carries in 2013.
Robinson rushed for 224 yards and a touchdown on 54 carries. He also had a nice showing versus the Rams, running for 23 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
The Saints and their backs will face off against the Tennessee Titans on Friday at 8 p.m. ET in their second preseason game.
