Referee throws flag over 30 yards (GIF)

The NFL preseason isn’t always the most entertaining football you could watch. But just like any game there is always the potential for something extraordinary to happen.

The only thing is, that in last night’s game between the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars that play came from a referee. The back judge leaned back and unleashed a cannon shot of a throw, hurling the yellow penalty flag over 30 yards down field.

Pretty impressive, and the referee has great form. The fine folks at ESPN used their on-graphic screens to analyze and breakdown the throw, and personally I think it is the best use of that technology ever.
