For the second week in a row, Drew Brees did not take the field for the Saints, however Luke McCown did a fine job leading the way for the quarterbacks in this one. McCown finished his night 12-of-19 for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Also, once again, Ryan Griffin out of Tulane had another impressive performance in relief under center, tossing for 179 yards on 13-of-20 passing with two touchdowns of his own.
Joseph Morgan had a monstrous night catching some of those balls as well, finishing his evening against the Titans with 108 yards on just three catches.
As for the Titans in this one, even in the losing effort, the team got a good performance out of starting quarterback Jake Locker, something they desperately needed to see. In the limited time he saw on the field, Locker finished a solid 8-for-10 passing for 75 yards, including a touchdown pass to Justin Hunter late in the first quarter. Hunter finished with four catches for 111 yards and two scores.
In their third game of the preseason, the Saints will take on the Indianapolis Colts next Saturday night, while the Titans will head to Atlanta to take on the Falcons.
