By Josh Hill
The NFL preseason has long been slammed for being a place where starting players get injured and not much else happens, and the St. Louis Rams are feeling that a bit on Saturday afternoon.

Running back Isaiah Pead went down in the first quarter of the Rams preseason game against the Green Bay Packers and it’s not looking like the outcome is going to be good.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Rams will have Pead undergo an MRI on Sunday, but it’s already not looking like things are going to turn out in a positive fashion for Pead or the Rams.
Losing Pead would be a blow for the Rams, but they learned in their preseason game against the Packers that they have other runners to fall in love with. The injury to Pead could open the door for Tre Mason to make an impact as a rookie.
Either way, the ideal situation for the Rams is to get Pead back, but the MRI he’s going to get tomorrow might force that plan to change quite a bit.
