Brees has always targeted the Saints’ third preseason game, which is the most important game for starters, for his return to the field and the perennial Pro Bowler is saying that he remains on track with that timeline and he expects to play in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday.
“Today was my first day to be full-go. I’ve been taking it very slow,” Brees said, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “I wanted to make sure it was all good. I’m still not 100 percent, but I hope by Saturday I am.”
There is no reason to worry about whether or not Brees will be ready for the start of the season, but it will be nice for the Saints and their fans to see the signal-caller back out on the field.
Saints is a very important part of the Saints’ offense, and there is no denying the fact that they are much better when he is lined up under center.
