Greg Monroe rumors: No good trade options for Detroit Pistons
As free agency opened, Detroit Pistons’ restricted free agent big man Greg Monroe was one of the top players on the market. Over a month and a half later, Monroe remains on that market. He has reportedly turned down an offer from the Pistons that would have made him the team’s highest-paid player (although he has denied it) and he hasn’t been close to signing an offer sheet with another team and he will reportedly sign the Pistons’ qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent next year. That has led to speculation the Pistons could try to trade Monroe.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors doesn’t see a good trade option for Monroe right now.
"I don’t really think there are any good trade options for them at this point; if there had been, I think the Pistons would have pulled the trigger. I always thought something would materialize with the Hawks, but there’s been almost no chatter about that recently. It seems as though the Pistons value Monroe highly, which makes it difficult for them to commit to trading him, but just not as highly as Monroe values himself. Plus, it just doesn’t seem like Monroe wants to stick around in Detroit."
Monroe put up 15.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 49.7% from the field and 65.7% from the free throw line last season. He’s averaged 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50.8% from the floor and 67.8% from the charity stripe in his career.
