Minnesota Vikings vs Arizona Cardinals

  1. Kyle Rudolph continues to build upon his preseason hype, finishing with 89 yards on four receptions.  He seems to fit into the “Norv Turner” tight end effect that has produced monster fantasy football tight ends such as Antonio Gates and Jordan Cameron.   Rudolph already seems to be a favorite target for Matt Cassel as well, getting five targets from him in Saturday’s game.  Rudolph is being drafted as a low end TE1, but has a ceiling that can put him into the top 5.  If you like waiting for tight ends don’t be afraid to take Rudolph later in the draft.  He could be a nice consolation prize for those that miss out on Jimmy Graham and Vernon Davis.
  2. Matt Cassel looks to be the favorite to start, even with Teddy Bridgewater having a solid performance.  Bridgewater went 16-20 for 177 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winner.
  3. I for one am hoping that Cassel does indeed start, seeing as how Cordarrelle Patterson exploded onto the scene with Cassel under center.  Cassel starting in week one also bumps up the stock on Greg Jennings a little bit.  He has a much better arm than Ponder, and is more experienced than Bridgewater.  Cassel is the right choice for the Vikings right now.
  4. Carson Palmer and the Cardinals’ first team offense look like a well oiled machine right now.  Palmer could be a good candidate to bust out this year.
