By Josh Hill
The Charlotte Hornets are a new team in more than one way, as they have a new logo, a new team name and a revamped roster that added some great pieces in the summer.

They may not be done adding pieces either, as the Detroit Pistons are shopping Josh Smith and Charlotte may become interested in adding the veteran to further strengthen their vastly improved roster.
According to Alex Kennedy from Basketball Insiders, the trade rumors involving Josh Smith and the Charlotte Hornets are interesting but there’s no way the team should bet high on trying to acquire Smith when he’s having a rough go of things and serves as no sure thing.
"It’s interesting. The Pistons are definitely open to moving Josh Smith, but the question is what would the Hornets have to give up? I wouldn’t give up anything significant to land Smith. He is coming off an awful season and his contract is hideous. If Charlotte can snag him for pennies on the dollar because his trade value is at an all-time low, it could be a good move, but there’s no way I’d part with anything of value to acquire Smith."
Smith had a rough go of things with the Pistons last year but the bottom line is that he’s a stud when he’s firing on all cylinders and perhaps he needs a change of scenery to get back to where he was with the Atlanta Hawks just a few years ago.
