Davis, the 13-year-old girl who became the first girl to win a game at the Little League World Series, took the mound for Philadelphia in the game, but she gave up three runs to the impressive Nevada lineup in just 2 1/3 innings.
After giving up three runs, Davis was pulled from the mound.
She had six strikeouts in the game and 20 strikeouts in her last three appearances on the mound.
For Las Vegas, the bats kept swinging and the balls kept going into play throughout the night with a late offensive explosion.
Already holding a 3-1 lead entering the top of the sixth inning — which is the final inning in Little League play — Las Vegas put up another five runs to extend their lead to 8-1 with just three outs to go.
Unfortunately for the Philadelphia side, they were unable to mount a comeback and they suffered their first loss of the tournament.
Nevada will now advance to the United States Championship Game on Saturday thanks to their power arms and big bats.
For Philadelphia, the tournament can still goes on despite their disappointing loss on Wednesday night. Philadelphia will take on Chicago tomorrow night, with the winner advancing to Saturday’s championship game against Las Vegas.
It would be a great shot at redemption for Mo’ne Davis and the Laney Dragons if they can pull off a win over Chicago on Thursday night.
