Mo’ne Davis is a media sensation after her brilliant performance in the LLWS (Wednesday’s loss notwithstanding), and now people are beginning to try and cash in on her celebrity.

The Mo’ne Davis memorabilia market is already getting cranked up. A seller listed a pair of Mo’ne Davis autographed baseballs on eBay and got $510 for them on 18 bids.
In case you’re wondering, no, there is no innocence anymore.
Proceeds from the sale of the Mo’ne Davis autographed baseballs will go to help some guy pay for his groceries and internet.
Okay okay I know, we live in a capitalist country. Nobody forced Mo’ne Davis to sign the guy’s baseballs. She signed them of her own free will and now he can do whatever he wants with them.
From a pure market point-of-view, the guy is smart to unload these as fast as possible. Mo’ne Davis is a sensation now but she’s sure not to remain famous for very long. If he sat on these they’d soon be worthless.
I’d say $500 is a good haul for a pair of baseballs signed by a 12-year-old pitcher. So, good job guy. Also, horrible job guy.
Enjoy your Twinkies, or whatever you use the money on.
