One player who was rumored to be moving at the deadline was Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham and while he didn’t move before the end of July he’s on the move nonetheless in the middle of August.
According to the Chicago White Sox official twitter account, Beckham has been traded to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for a player to be named later.
Beckham will be a nice addition to the Angles bench and that’s where he’s going to be coming into games from. He won’t start in Los Angeles but what he will do is give the team some depth at a vital position and some pop in the pinch hitting game if they need it.
As for the White Sox, this is a total signal that this season is lost but they’re getting return for a guy who is wasting away his potential on their roster and now both sides can move forward knowing they’re in better places now.
