Thaddeus Young deal set: Timberwolves, 76ers agree to three-team deal with Cavaliers

At first, it looked the Minnesota Timberwolves would be dealing star power forward Kevin Love for to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Bennett, swingman Andrew Wiggins and a future number one pick. Now, the Timberwolves are going to be acquiring both Philadelphia 76ers’ forward Thaddeus Young and forward Anthony Bennett.Instead, the Cavaliers will be sending that pick to the 76ers and the Timberwolves will deal both forward Luc Mbah a Moute and point guard Alexey Shved to the 76ers with Young heading to the Timberwolves.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski the two teams are set to complete the deal on Saturday.

"The Minnesota Timberwolves will acquire Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young for a 2015 first-round draft pick and two role players, league sources told Yahoo Sports.The Timberwolves will send Philadelphia the Miami Heat’s 2015 first-round pick Minnesota will acquire as part of the Kevin Love deal with Cleveland, sources said. The T-Wolves will send forward Luc Mbah a Moute and guard Alexey Shved to the Sixers."

Mbah a Moute has an excellent relationship with Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid, the third-overall pick in this summers’ draft. The 76ers are hoping Mbah a Moute can serve as a mentor for Embiid.

Young went for 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game and shot 45.4% from the field, 30.8% from beyond the arc and 71.2% from the free throw line this season. Mbah a Moute put up 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 45.1% from the floor, 23.5% from three and 68.7% from the charity stripe.Shved averaged 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 32.1% from the field, 29.4% from beyond the arc and 75.6% from the foul line.
