Anthony Bennett is heading to Minnesota as part of the deal but initial reports indicated that Bennett would be flipped for Thaddeus Young in a three-way deal with Cleveland. It now appears though that the Timberwolves want to keep Bennett and pair him with Andrew Wiggins in Minnesota.
This isn’t a new concept, according to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, as the Wolves were always going to keep Bennett and were never going to flip him for Young.
This is good news for the fans who have been watching Bennett’s offseason as it appears he’s making strides to get better and is poised to have a much better 2014-15 campaign than he did a rookie campaign last year.
Young is still expected to be acquired though by Minnesota, it just won’t cost them Bennett which may pay off huge in the end.
