Broncos’ Peyton Manning to Texans defender: ‘F*** me’
By Sam Richmond
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is regarded as one of the classiest players in the NFL. So plenty of football fans were stunned when the quarterback was flagged for taunting during Saturday’s preseason game against the Houston Texans.
Manning earned the penalty after throwing a touchdown strike to receiver Emmanuel Sanders. The Broncos QB got in the face of Texans defender D.J. Swearinger and said some things following the pass.
But what exactly did Manning say to have the flag thrown on him?
Swearinger let it be known after the game.
Lindsay Jones of USA Today had some insight on why exactly Manning was upset with Swearinger.
"It was Swearinger who picked off Manning during a two-minute drill in practice on Wednesday. Swearinger told reporters after that practice that the interception got the Broncos frustrated, and a skirmish soon followed. And one play before the second touchdown pass, Swearinger was flagged for a personal foul for an illegal hit on Denver receiver Wes Welker."
It’s pretty incredible to see a story about Manning using such language, but it appears we finally have proof that Manning is human and has emotions.
Swearinger and the Texans ultimately triumphed over Manning and the Broncos 18-17.
