Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was pretty excited back in 2013 and again this past summer when his team won the draft lottery, but he’s even more excited about Love joining the team. He’s not forgetting about Wiggins or Bennett though as he tweeted a farewell message to the former No. 1 overall picks this weekend.
Gilbert has long been an outspoken owner when it comes to major decisions for the franchise, and his vocal excitement about Love joining the team is apparent. it’s hard to not see this has backhanded, as Gilbert is clearly in a good mood, but it’s nice to see him at least acknowledge who he’s giving up to get Love from Minnesota.
The only question now is, will Gilbert be sorry he ever made the trade or will he be laughing all the way to an NBA title?
