We’ve made it! Football is back, and with that comes the over analyzing of the preseason, trying to find any advantage we can for our upcoming drafts. Many fantasy champions are made in the preseason. From analyzing rookies to scoping out all of the off-season moves, I will try to help you prepare as well. Detroit Lions vs Jacksonville Jaguars
- Allen Hurns has slowly and quietly become the Jaguars number one receiver in the preseason. Hurns has 18 targets over the last three games. He drew nine this week and six last week, and has failed to disappoint. Hurns finished his night with 113 yards on seven receptions and a touchdown. He is not immediately fantasy relevant, but with the rise of Blake Bortles, Hurns could develop nicely along with Bortles. Hurns should be on your radar in dynasty leagues, and he is likely available in almost all of them. He might be worth picking up as a long term project.
- Blake Bortles went 10 of 17 for 158 yards and a touchdown. Bortles continues to impress, as he was thrown into the two minute drill last night and drove his team down to set up for a field goal. He continues to show why he was taken with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft, and has serious potential to become a star in this league.
- Golden Tate finished his night with 36 yards on three receptions with four targets. He could be a nice compliment to Calvin Johnson this season, and is a sleeper in fantasy given the fact that Matthew Stafford throws a ton in games. Tate has very reliable hands and makes plays after contact, so don’t sleep on him as he will post nice numbers in this pass heavy offense.
- Reggie Bush ripped an 86 yard carry to the house with his other carry coming in at nine yards. It’s good to see Bush showcase his speed and separate himself a bit from Joique Bell since they will both likely be in a time share.
