The Boston Celtics have Rajon Rondo on their roster but for some reason everyone seems to think that he won’t be for much longer. Boston has been involved in trade rumors surrounding Rondo for years now, and with the star in his contract season there are even more rumors about what will happen.

According to the Boston Globe, should Rondo be traded anywhere he’s unlikely to sign an extension with anyone including the Sacramento Kings.
"It is highly unlikely Rondo would sign an extension this season with an interested team, especially the Sacramento Kings. Second, the Celtics don’t feel pressed to deal Rondo because they are still trying to determine if he’s part of the future and they are intrigued to see him in action a full 18 months following ACL surgery"
The Kings have been hot after Rondo for a while, but they haven’t been able land him in a deal. News that he won’t sign an extension will also kill trade rumors involving Rondo and it’s something that may lower his value for teams not wanting to give up the farm to acquire the guard.
