The Baltimore Orioles put together a game for the highlight reels against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night. They crushed home runs, back-to-back-to-back at one point, and their center fielder delivered one of the most spectacular defensive plays of the season.

With his team already enjoying a comfortable 9-1 lead in the sixth inning of this game, Adam Jones sprinted back to the wall in pursuit of a deep shot off the bat of Evan Longoria. With two runners on, it looked as if Longoria might have taken a bite out of the big deficit to bring his team back in the game.
Jones had different plans, leaping to rob the home run at the wall. That play on its own would have been enough to warrant some extra attention, but Jones followed it up with another impressive feat as he fired a throw into second to gun down Matt Joyce as he tried to take the extra base.
In first place in the American League East as the beginning of September approaches, the Orioles continue to play outstanding defense as part of their recipe for success. The recent loss of Manny Machado hurts those efforts, but having Jones in center field will always give them an advantage over their opponents.
