The Phoenix Suns and restricted free agent guard Eric Bledsoe remain very far apart on a deal and there have been rumors that Bledsoe could either be dealt in a sign-and-trade or sign a qualifying offer to remain with the Suns for a year and then become an unrestricted free agent.

At this point, no team but the Philadelphia 76ers even has the money to offer Bledsoe a legitimate offer sheet.

On Tuesday, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders was asked if the 76ers could change their mind and offer Bledsoe a contract.

"No.Zero reason for them to pay out a $15 million salary. Bledsoe isn’t part of their plan. Just because you have cash does not mean you should spend on because there is a guy there. You save that money and spend it on the right guy, and Bledsoe is not the right guy for the 76ers."

The 76ers are clearly looking at another year in the lottery. They have traded forward Thaddeus Young and drafted two rookies, center Joel Embiid and forward Dario Saric, who likely won’t even play. Embiid is recovering from foot surgery while Saric is going to play overseas for at least one more season.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field, 35.7% from beyond the arc and 77.2% from the free throw line last season. In his four-year NBA career, the 18th-overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder (he was immediately dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers), has averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the floor, 32.7% from three and 75.8% from the charity stripe.
