Hasheem Thabeet to be waived by 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers could sign him
By Josh Hill
The Oklahoma City Thunder have finally found a place to trade Hasheem Thabeet to and the Philadelphia 76ers are naturally there to eat salary and clean up other teams garbage.

But Thabeet has talent and he just needs to be in the right environment, and this could all in a roundabout way bring him to the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to Marc Stein from ESPN, the Philadelphia 76ers are set to waive Thabeet as soon as he’s acquired, meaning that the Cavaliers could scoop him up at the minimum without having to give up assets in the process.
There’s nothing official out of Cleveland just yet, but logic would suggest that the team could make a move on him. It was rumored not that long ago that the Cavaliers could have interest in Thabeet but they didn’t seem to have a whole lot of interest in trading for him.
Now that he’s set to be waived by the Sixers, the Cavaliers could pick up Thabeet and fill their dire need for center depth before the season starts in a few months.
