This will be the the 64th time that Clemson and Georgia have met and both are coming in without a returning quarterback. Georgia leads the all time record 41-18-4. Clemson is without Tajh Boyd who started the last 40 games for the Tigers while Georgia is replacing Andy Murray who started 52 games for the Bulldogs. Todd Gurley is a storyline for the Bulldogs as he is a contender for the Heisman Trophy. Gurley rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns in the meeting last year. This game could make or break either team’s season. The game is at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Oklahoma State will take on the nation’s best team and last year’s champion Florida State in Arlington, Texas at the Cowboy classic. Oklahoma State comes into the game barely unranked and has not beaten a number one ranked opponent ever as they’re 0-10 all-time. If Florida State wins the game they will tie the school record for most consecutive wins at 17. Jameis Winston will take the field in probably his final season with Florida State as he looks to repeat as the Heisman Trophy winner. The game is at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Lastly is Wisconsin versus LSU. The game is being played at a neutral site at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. LSU comes into the game winning 11-straight season openers and will look to continue that streak against B1G 10 powerhouse, Wisconsin. Wisconsin running back leads Wisconsin as a potential Heisman candidate this season. He rushed for 6.6 yards per rush last season, which ranked second in FBS. The game is at 9 p.m. on ESPN.
