Shaw went on record saying that he made the leap after seeing his nephew struggling in the pool, but police enforcement have told TMZ.com that they never received any call or notice about a near drowning or trauma incident.
"TMZ Sports spoke with the L.A. County Fire Dept. in Palmdale and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. in Palmdale — and both say they never got an emergency call about a drowning or a trauma incident involving Shaw or his nephew. One law enforcement official told us .. “Let me put it to you this way: A drowning or a near drowning is a big deal. And our officials would know about it.”"
USC has since backtracked on the story and said that they are investigating the situation after receiving conflicting reports.
There have been rumors circulating around Twitter claiming to know the real story behind Shaw’s injury, and let’s just say that we hope that is not true.
It is hard to pass judgement on Shaw until the full details of the incident that led to his ankle injuries that will keep him out of action for the start of the season are revealed, so we will just have to sit back and wait to see what kind of truth comes out.
