The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping that their season this year will go much better than the season they had last year, as they ended up with the No. 7 overall pick in the draft and a sour taste in their mouths.

Kobe Bryant was gone for mostly all of the season and injuries ravaged the roster to the point where in one game the Lakers literally didn’t have enough players on the bench to play. What last season also highlighted was some serious needs on the roster and one position of need was point guard.
That’s past tense though as Jeremy Lin was acquired this offseason from the Houston Rockets and it’s looking like he might be the starter. Mike Trudell from NBA.com opines that beyond Kobe Bryant, the next obvious and likely starter is Jeremy Lin who would be stating at point guard.
"The one absolute lock for the starting five is … you guessed it … Kobe Bryant. Lin’s the next most likely starter, his relative youth — 10 years younger, to the day, than Bryant — and athleticism a good compliment to Kobe."
Lin is a few years removed from Lin-sanity but he’s looking to rekindle that in Los Angeles and prove he’s an elite point guard in the NBA. He’s likely to start since there’s really no one else on the roster to challenge him, and that may lead to Lin recapturing some Lin-sanity this year.
