Allen, 39, has gone back and forth on whether he wants to play this season or retire. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the front-runners to sign the sharpshooter and one of the league’s best three-point shooters of all-time after the signing of LeBron James and trade of Kevin Live.
However, don’t discount the Clippers and head coach Doc Rivers in this race after they won a NBA Championship together with the Boston Celtics. Another attractive sales pitch could be the weather in L.A. versus the weather in Cleveland.

Allen visited the Clippers two years when he was a free agent prior to signing with the Miami Heat but his interest could be renewed with the presence of Rivers.
It was reported earlier in August that Allen would make a decision regarding his future in September, so with a weekend left in the month of August, his decision could come as soon as after the Labor Day weekend. Previous reports have suggested Allen could delay his decision so he could avoid training camp and he could even wait to make a decision into the regular season.
Allen averaged 9.6 points per game last season with the Heat while shooting 38 percent from behind the three-point line.
Adding a shooter like Allen to spread the floor would enhance the Clippers chances of competing with the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder in a loaded Western Conference.
Where do you think Allen plays next year?
