The FIBA World Cup is well underway on Saturday as the first day of group play is taking place in Spain with just a few games left on the docket. One of those games involves Team USA playing their first game of the tournament and they’re getting what seems like a cake walk in the Finnish national team straight out of the gate.

More from FIBA World Cup

No one wants to actively make fun of someone else for being bad at sports and it’s impossible to make fun of Finland if that’s what you’re trying to do. The country produces more hockey players than Angelina Jolie produces babies and no one  faulting them for that.

What we can fault them for is trying to play basketball — because James Harden reminded them on Saturday that hockey is their sport.

Harden has been on fire for Team USA so far in the World Cup — granted it’s been just under a half hour of actual basketball played at this point — but things are looking bright. The Americans are in an easier than easy group and if the Fins are their most stout competition, then hitting cruise control for the time being isn’t all that bad of an idea.
