Behind the arm of Heisman winner Jameis Winston and a stifling defense, the Seminoles cruised their way through the regular season last year, won the ACC Championship, and then captured their first national championship since the 1999 season by defeating the Auburn Tigers, 34-1, in one of the more thrilling title games that we’ve seen.
With Winston back, plus a plethora of young talent from that defense last season, there are many that have the ‘Noles pegged to repeat.
Oklahoma State had yet another strong year last season, although they squandered an opportunity to win the Big 12 down the stretch, a title that was eventually claimed by Baylor, the same team that Oklahoma State mauled earlier in the year.
But this team loses most of what they had last season, so they could be in for a long night to start this one.
