The University of Oklahoma is hosting Louisiana Tech in their 2014 season opener. The Oklahoma Sooners are heavy favorites over the La Tech Bulldogs and come into the game ranked fourth in the nation.

From the start it was pretty much all Oklahoma. By the end of the first half they were already up 21-0 in the game. Two of those first quarter touchdowns came from sophomore running back Keith Ford. The first was a 22-yard dash and the second score for Ford was a five-yard run.
Trevor Knight got off to a hot start picking up right where he left of in the Sugar Bowl last season against Alabama. In the first quarter Knight found Sterling Shepard for a 16-yard touchdown pass.
With a heavy lead in the game, Oklahoma didn’t need to throw a lot and were content to pound the ball, control the game and run out the clock.
The Sooners extended their lead by 10 points to 31-0 late in the second quarter. Louisiana Tech was able to score and get on the board in the final seconds of the first half with a 36-yard field goal.
In the second half the Sooners picked up right where they left off, driving down the field and scoring. Alex Ross scored on a eight yard run to cap a 5 play, 75-yard drive. Ross scored on a one yard run in the second quarter as well.
A matter of minutes later and Michael Hunnicutt converted his second field goal of the game to extend the Sooners lead to 41-3 early in the third quarter.
Louisiana Tech got a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to make the score more respectable. They were a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Cody Sokol. The first was 11 seconds into the quarter and was a six-yard pass to Kenneth Dixon.
The second has a 22-yard pass to Trent Taylor but the PAT was blocked.
Oklahoma held on to win 48-16.
