The New York Jets had some drama that the HBO Hard Knocks camera probably wished they had been around for, as a subplot to training camp this year involved the disappearance and then suspension of Dimitri Patterson.

More from New York Jets

In case you’re not up on the story, the Jets veteran cornerback went AWOL early on in camp but resurfaced only to get himself suspended by the team. that suspension came to an end on Saturday no when the team lifted it but rather cut Patterson from their roster.

Patterson is already getting interest from the Houston Texans and he’s a veteran that a few teams might look into. But the drama with the Jets may damage his brand a bit as teams don’t need distractions and Patterson ended up being one of the worst kinds this summer with New York.

That’s not to say he won’t get another chance in the NFL, it’s just he’s going to need to promise he’ll show up both on and off the field.
