Adam Caplan of ESPN.com writes that one of the coaches who some may say is on the hot seat for the 2014 season really isn’t. Jeff Fisher likely doesn’t need to post a winning record to keep his job in St. Louis this year, writes Caplan, but never say never when it comes to coaching changes in the NFL.
That being said, it’s noted in the Insider’s Only piece that should the Rams part ways with Fisher than they’d likely need to start over from scratch which isn’t something a growing team like St. Louis wants to do. The team is on the rise and Fisher will be given some serious slack thanks to the ACL injuries that Sam Bradford has suffered the last two years.
It’s not a free pass, and the Rams will likely be better this year than they were last year, but Fisher’s job seems secure for the time being no matter the outcome of the season this year for St. Louis.
