The Alabama Crimson Tide football team is not off to the start they want in 2014 on Saturday, as they are getting all they can handle from the West Virginia Mountaineers. Yes, those same Mountaineers that went 4-8 last season. Yes, that same West Virginia team that the Tide were supposed to be firmly in control of by halftime. But thanks to athletes like Mario Alford, this is anything but a cake walk for the Tide.

Currently at the half, Alabama is up 20-17, breaking a 17-17. How the game got tied up at 17 in the first place is the most exciting part, though.
After ‘Bama running back T.J. Yeldon scored his second touchdown of the day, the Tide lined up for the ensuing kickoff, although they kicked it to the wrong man, and their 17-10 lead vanished just like that.
Watch in the video below as Alford takes the ball and then proceeds to take it straight to the house for the touchdown that no doubt had all the Mountaineers faithful losing their minds.
This is not the way things were expected to go for Nick Saban and crew, but like it or not, this is what they’re getting.
If the second half is anything like the first, there could be a huge shakeup in the college football landscape by the time Saturday is over with.
