Will Michael Sam make St. Louis Rams practice squad?
The cut that will make headlines all weekend long and into next week is the decision by the St. Louis Rams to release seventh-round pick Michael Sam, who is openly gay and trying to be the first openly gay player in the NFL.

As the Rams trimmed their roster to get down to the 53 required by the league by today, Sam was one of the players who saw their hopes of making an NFL roster dashed and his chance of making history is temporary on hold.
With a recent ruling allowing practice squads to grow from eight to 10 players, could here be a chance Sam returns to the Rams as a member of the practice squad?
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the chances of that happening do not look great.
If he clears waivers, he will not be eligible for the practice squad for the Rams and could find himself invited to workout for another team in need of a pass rusher very soon.
Sam was the co-SEC Defensive Player of the Year last year as he helped guide the Missouri Tigers to the SEC Championship Game, but his lack of a true position and ideal measurables and athletic ability resulted in him dropping to the seventh round and subsequently being cut.
Do you think the Rams made the right decision to cut Sam or should they have found a way to keep him on the roster even if they determined he wasn’t one of the 53 best players on the team?
